About Us
Who is Leeds Valley Church?
In 2024, members of Valley View Baptist Church, Valleydale Church and the Church at Brook Hills came together as Leeds Valley Church. We like to say we’re a church with a place for everyone. We hope you’ll experience a friendly, warm and welcoming group of people who love Jesus and love worshipping him together. Our desire for this new faith community is pretty simple: We want to love Jesus, We want to grow together, We want to bless our city, and We want to share Gospel hope with Leeds and beyond!
Our Team
What We Believe
At Leeds Valley Church, we affirm the essential doctrines of the Christian faith—truths that have been recognized throughout church history as foundational to following Jesus. These beliefs are not an exhaustive list of all biblical teaching but serve as a clear summary of the core doctrines taught in Scripture and embraced by faithful Christians across generations.
As a Southern Baptist Church, we also fully affirm the Baptist Faith & Message, which provides a fuller expression of our theological convictions and commitments.
God
We believe in the one true and living God, creator of all things, almighty, and sovereign in the universe. He is a three-person God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Revelation
God has revealed Himself generally through His Creation and Moral Law and specifically through the incarnation of His Son and His written word, the Bible. The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and authoritative word of God.
Creation
We believe that God created all things from nothing, called them good, and continues to rule and govern his creation.
Humanity
We believe that God sovereignly created man and woman and that all humanity is created in the image of God. As his image bearers, all humanity possesses intrinsic dignity and worth.
Sin
We believe that mankind freely sinned against God and in that sin fell from God’s perfection. Thus sinful man stands opposed to God and in that sin faces the eternal, just wrath of the Almighty God.
Salvation
We believe that God is a gracious God and that He has extended His grace to sinful man through His Son, Jesus Christ. God’s gift of grace and forgiveness of sin is available to all who turn from their sin and place their faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord.
the Holy Spirit
We believe that followers of Jesus are in dwelt by the Holy Spirit of God who is the third person of the Trinity and who strengthens believers to grow in holiness and in obedience to the commands of Christ.
the Church
We believe that the church is the presence of the Kingdom of Christ on earth. Followers of Christ join together in localized bodies or local churches in order to live out the life of a disciple.
Mission
We believe that God’s offer of grace is exclusive only to those who confess and believe in the Lordship and saving work of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we believe in the Great Commission and that we are charged by Christ to make disciples.
Ordinances
We believe in baptism by immersion in water as a proclamation of faith and an experience of fellowship with Christ in his death and resurrection. We believe in the observation of the Lord’s Supper as a proclamation of Christ’s work and Kingdom until He returns.
Resurrection and Christ's Second Coming
We believe that Christ will return to fully establish His authority over all things. Christ will judge all of humanity, condemning all evil and calling those who have believed in Him to life in His everlasting Kingdom.
